Ford's Colony - Blackheath, Williamsburg, Virginia
Dan
Maples created the Blackheath from an existing nine of the former
Gold Course and a complete new nine holes. The result is a truly
intriguing and beautiful par-71, 6621-yard layout. It's one of those
courses where upon completion of your round you can easily replay
all 18 holes in your mind. Particularly memorable is the 356-yard
18th hole with water down the right, dense woods down the left,
and an island green finish. The Blackheath was rated as "one
of the best 12 places to play" by Washington Golf Monthly.
