Wild Wing - Avocet, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The Avocet course features elevated tees and greens, double fairways
and a double green, and grass bunkers, all of which contributed
to the course's recognition by Golf Digest as one of "The Top
10 Best New Courses in America" for 1994. Each hole is memorable
for its enjoyment, beauty, and playability. Though all 18 are challenging,
they are fair tests of the player's skills. Water comes into play
on several holes, and with all par 5's and par 3's playing in different
directions, each season's prevailing winds must be taken into account.
