Orange Co. National-Panther Lake, Orlando, Florida

Panther Lake, voted Golf Magazine's "Top 10 You Can Play"
in the United States in March 1998 and more recently awarded 4 1/2
Stars by Golf Digest's "PLACES TO PLAY" for 2000, was
designed to showcase the native beauty of the Florida landscape.
This 7,295-yard masterpiece is the first course ever to feature
18 signature holes, incorporating rolling hills, including 60-foot
elevation changes, as it winds through natural oak hammocks, pine
forests, scenic wetlands and glistening freshwater lakes. In addition
to its natural beauty, Panther Lake offers numerous strategic options
in its design, thus allowing all players to be fairly challenged.

| Course Reviews |
Jack W Armstrong says:
I have played many of the best in Central Florida- overall,
condition, design, scenery, challenge, this golf course is tops
in my view. Played in early June, 2000 in the middle of a drought
and course was IMMACULATE. |
Loren Leys says:
Skip Crooked Cat at OCN and play Panther Lake it is exceptional.
Visually beautiful and in perfect condition. |
Arthur Adams says:
I recently played Panther Lake and Crooked Cat while I was on
a lodge package at Orange County National. I was very impressed
at the condition of both courses, The best I've ever played.
Each course presented different looks and challenges. The lodging
was very accomodating and the whole staff made my stay very
enjoyable. |
Stephen Wojtowicz says:
The course is in excellent condition. I recently played it (
sept. 8 01) and if anyone gets a chance to head out there any
time soon take it's definetly worth it. |
Leo K. says:
We played seven rounds in five days and Panther Lake was two
of them. The best conditions, greens and layout of all. I would
highly recommend this course on your next trip. |
Bill Ford says:
This is a great course in great condition. Wondered by Celebration
Golf Club is not part of this organization. |
Dave Smith SAYS...
I just got back home after 5 courses in 4 days in Orlando. The
2 at Orange County National were the top 2, with Panther Lake
the equal of any course I've played in Florida, the Carolinas
or California. The variety of holes including elevation changes,
the supurb conditions and the challenge would cause me to recommend
it with enthusiasm. Add to that the beauty of each hole, which
makes selecting a single signature hole impossible, and you
have a must play there. |
Bailey Cartwright SAYS...
GREAT FACILITY! OUR GROUP HAD NOT BEEN DOWN TO ORLANDO IN 2
YEARS AND UPON OUR RETURN (IN JAN 03) WERE DELIGHTED TO FIND
THAT OUR GOLF RATES INCLUDED LUNCH (ANYTHING ON THE MENU), RANGE
BALLS, A MERCHANDISE CREDIT AND NICE PHOTO BAG TAG. AS IN TYHE
PAST THE STAFF WAS NOTHING SHORT OF PROFESSIONAL- IT'S NO WONDER
WHY THEY WILL BE HOLDING THE 2003 PGA Q-SCHOOL FINALS THIS YEAR!
36 MUST PLAY HOLES WHILE IN ORLANDO!- BC |
Dr. Martin SAYS...
I played the Panther course on Feb 8th 2003. The course was
in good condition considering the amount of rain it's had in
the last week. The greens were fast, any shot above the hole
was a problem. The track has exciting par 5's and beautiful
par 3's. The facilities were great. I would play this course
again if given the chance. |
David W SAYS...
Played mid Jan. 03. Bring your A game and your AExpress. Think
you could be a tour player? You'll know by the time you leave.
I think I'm going to try again in July. GET GOOD DIRECTIONS!
It seemed nobody within 5 miles of this course had ever heard
of it. |
Philip Newson SAYS...
Came over from the UK in November and played both Panfer Lake
and Crooked Cat,both courses were excellent, and I would highly
recommend to all who vist the Orlando area, I look forward to
returing in 2004 |
steve c. SAYS...
we played this course just after q school finished in december
and where amazed at how good a condition we found the course.
this is a great golf course. but be forwarned...these greens
are very ! slippery... i had a hard time getting the speed right
all day...they where fast uphill and slow downhill .. go figure...if
you go in the afternoon you will get a better price but its
a great course no matter what... also nice clubhouse and pro
shop...it is worth the drive....don't miss this course |
