Markham Woods, Magnolia Plantation, Lake Mary, Florida
This
7100-yard David Harman creation opened in 2000. The magnificent
layout features a variety of tees to challenge every skill level
and 18 distinctly different holes, all carved out of the Wekiva
River Basin. Surrounded by a variety of hardwood trees and native
vegetation, the fairways are rolling and meticulously maintained
as they weave amongst 13 lakes and ponds. The par 3's and 4's are
extremely challenging while the par 5's give the player an opportunity
for that illusive birdie and seldom-achieved eagle. It's a beauty,
a real "must-play!"

GLENN KEATING says:
GREAT COURSE AND CONDITION.PLAYED IN EARLY FEB. COURSE WAS GREEN
LIKE MID SUMMER. |
JOHN LENNON says:
Absolutely excellent. A great layout in great shape. We played
right after it opened last year and it has grown in beatifully
since then. This will go on our must play list for next year.

Derek Jalonen says:
Some of the best greens in town... Very challenging layout...
NOT recommended for high handicapper... Somewhat unfair when
in extremely dry conditions |
joe peterson SAYS...
This course is a hidden gem. Play it now before the price goes
up. A great layout at a reasonable price. |
Mike W. SAYS...
Played in late February, '03. Course is still too young. Greens
are in rough shape. Too gimmicky. Skip it. |
Genrus Joe SAYS...
I just returned from a four day golf junket to Orlando after
a very frigid winter in Michigan. We played four courses and
Magnolia Plantation got the "worst" vote of the four
from the group! Very unfair landing areas and too many blind
shots. Perhaps with local knowledge or several plays, we could
have scored better but I doubt I will be able to get my group
back there for at least a few more years of growth and maturing
and a course guide which was not provided! Joe |
