Legends Golf & Country Club, Clermont, Florida
The
Legends is a brand new Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design situated
just 35 minutes west of Orlando in Clermont. Artfully carved from
former citrus groves, the course boasts a multitude of rolling fairways,
bordered by perimeter mounding that lead to undulating, well-bunkered
greens. Water is found on six holes and there's a multitude of great
dogleg holes, but the course is most memorable for its extremely
challenging par 3's. The expansive "mountain-top" driving
range boasts elevation drops of 75 to 100 feet with brilliant views.

frank rossner says:
My friend an I played the Legends. We both thought it was awful. The
layout terrible, the greens slow and bumpy. The course is just
not ready and certainly not worth the money.Play someplace else,
anywhere else. |
Joseph Ronald says:
Played Legends at Easter. Course had a great layout, challenging,
but enjoyable. Found course to be well maintained and player
friendly. Not sure Frank and his friends played the same course
I did. |
Frank Rossner says:
Joe, sadly I did but maybe the course has become much better
in one months time. |
Jake says:
Sorry Frank but this course is absolutly worth the 35 dollars
during a saterday morning. The greens run 11 and 12 on the stimp
and run true to feel. The only mountain course in florida that
isnt penal when you hit a great shot down the fair and you get
great roll. You didnt play the same course franky I am a local
and have played the best of the best and this one definitely
is up there! |
Frank Rossner says:
Jake, You either work for the golf course or own it. Learn how
to measure the speed of the greens and to spell the days of
the week. |
Jake says:
Hey frank I neither live or work for the place bud, sounds to
me like you don't have a life if all you want to do is put down
a quality track, grow up your that golfer that everybody hates
on saterday because he acts like he's on the tour. |
Frank Rossner says:
Jake, sorry you take this so personal, but I just found out
you're a 25 handicap anyways. Take some lessons for your golf
game and learn how to spell the days of the week. |
Simon says:
Gee, guys, Frank seems to have a real fixation with learning
how to spell the days of the week. He should probably learn
more about golf instead. It would appear likely such lack of
concentration to the task at hand would be the reason he did
not enjoy his outing at Legends. Instead, he seems to have unlimited
freetime to respond (redundantly) to posts on this site. I don't
believe Frank's opinion will sway any intelligent readers who
browse all the posts for this course. |
Dave says:
I haven't played Legends yet but am looking forward to the experience.
I have heard it is a great track. I am curious if anyone knows
if there is anything for my family to do close to the course.
I am playing in a tournament and they are planning to drop me
off and go do a water park or something. Is I-4 the only way
to get to the entertainment area around Disney. I will be there
on Saturday. |
Will says:
Played this past weekend. Greens are in great shape and roll
true. Track is a fun layout with elevations unusual for flat
Florida. Great time I would definitely recommend especially
at their current $25 rate. One of the better courses in Central
Florida. |
