Forest Lake, Ocoee, Florida
Designed
by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton, this exciting and challenging layout
has become one of Orlando's most respected courses. In fact, the
course was honored with the elite 4-star award in Golf Digest's
2000-2001 "Places to Play." With rolling fairways, water
on six holes, and no adjacent residences, the course offers an unspoiled
atmosphere with astounding scenic beauty. There are plenty of trees
and natural lakes as well as lush, green turf. An expansive driving
range and beautiful clubhouse help complete this facility and add
to its great value. With the recent opening of Toll Road 429 and
the Florida Turnpike, Forest Lake is easier to get to than ever.

Jack Armstrong says:
Outstanding hidden gem... Excellent condition.. Tranquil, tree-lined
setting... Should cost more to play, given the high quality
you receive. Certainly a better track than most in Orlando at
similar cost. |
Nick Basilio says:
One of the better courses in the Area with no play. Each hole
is unique with alot of risk/reward. Good shape. Personell was
very hospitable. Greens were large & sloping but very fair.
Could play this course every day. |
T.S.Merchant says:
I had the opportunity to play this course a few weeks ago while
on vacation.Superbly conditioned,outstanding par 3's and each
hole was unique.A very fair layout with plenty of bunkers.Should
have payed much more..... |
Ray Williams says:
Lovely mature course. While some of the fairways might be less
than perfection the greens are large and in great shape ( played
last week 03/28)No flat green, very tricky to hole out. A number
of the Par 3's are challenging especially in the back 9. This
course suited me perfectly as i tend to dislike golf courses
with houses around them and this one does not have any modern
impediments apart from a couple of holes that backs onto to
one of the freeways. I would rate this about a 6.5/10. |
Patrick Wellington SAYS...
Played the course in March 03 . Our foursome from Michigan enjoyed
the greens and condition of the course. The greens held and
putted true at medium speed. The back was much more senic than
the front. The front had 4 or 5 holes that ran side by side
with a busy highway at one end that you could see and you could
hear the traffic when on the end next to the road. We liked
the back that was more seculded and had a variety of holes with
some elevation change with oak trees and water. There wasn't
a ranger on the course which was a problem because a fivesome
was slowing play 3 groups ahead of of us. Over all it was fun
and would rate the experience a 7 out of 10 (the same as I rated
Diamondback). This may be based on shooting a 81 compared to
90 at Diamondback. Its funny how shooting a good round makes
the course more enjoyable. |
Stephen Stokes SAYS...
We played in Feb 2003. The greens were true the fairways lush.
The front nine were interesting holes but the back nine were
truely spectacular. I really enjoyed my round but then I did
play quite well. All our group from England said they would
like to play again next year. |
